Konstantina Karnarou and Vasia Xanthopoulou are currently participating in the Fellowship Exchange Program between Yorkshire Cancer Research in the UK and Regeneration & Progress in Greece. The program, which runs over the course of three months, aims to promote international collaboration and knowledge exchange in the field of sport and exercise science.

During their time in the UK, Konstantina and Vasia have been working closely with the Active Together team, while also gaining insight into the broader work of the Centre. At the same time, they have been contributing their own expertise and perspectives from their experience in Greece.

In their own words:

Konstantina Karnarou:
“What really stands out is the lively atmosphere here – it’s clear this place is all about pushing boundaries in exercise and health science. The technology and facilities are impressive, making it a truly productive environment to work in.”

Vasia Xanthopoulou:
“The people here made the transition so much easier. From engagement managers to research fellows, everyone has been incredibly welcoming, polite, and supportive.”

This fellowship is supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, and reflects a shared commitment to advancing health through cross-border cooperation, innovation, and applied research in physical activity and cancer prevention.
