Anthropometric & Physiological tests of Level 1,2,3 & “Talented” swimmers of the Sports Excellence/ NF program

ANTHROPOMETRIC, PHYSIOLOGICAL, ERGOMETRIC EVALUATIONS OF THE ATHLETES OF THE GREEK SWIMMING FEDERATION.

During the weekend of 22.09 & 23.09, the Sports Excellence scientific team evaluated 175 athletes, aged 12-18 years of level I-II-II-IV, as well as selective ones of the Swimming Federation of Greece. With a turnout of 90%, the 175 Athletes and Athletes participated in the Sporting
Excellence Unit at University Hospital “ATTIKON” where it was evaluated in: somatometric features, respiratory function (spirometry), biochemical markers, power flexibility, upper and lower limb strength and torso power. The results of the evaluations will form the basis for the safe preparation of the athletes in the current season.

Along with the reviews, nutrition, sport psychology and injury prevention talks were conducted as part of holistic support for athletes / athletes.

The evaluations were also attended by students from the Postgraduate Program of the 1st Orthopedic Clinic of the University of Athens “Sports and Health”, practicing in performance evaluation.
The program is being implemented in collaboration with the IOC and aims to create a scientific environment for the holistic development of young athletes. It is under the scientific supervision of the A’ Orthopaedic Clinic of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens with a grant from the SNF.
