Scientific Collaboration Agreement Sports Excellence – HHF

At the annual event of the Hellenic Handball Federation organized at the Acropolis Museum, Sports Excellence and the Federation inaugurated a new partnership aiming at the scientific follow-up of young athletes through integrated and systematic sports medicine and ergometric evaluation, educational actions and counseling training. The program aims to help optimize athletes’ performance, while promoting effective athletic development without injuries. HHF is the seventh federation that participates in the program, due to the initiative of the development consultans of the Federation Mr Kranakis and Mr Iatroudis.

The president of the HHF Mr. Kostas Gandis informed about the program and  the cooperation the participants, including the Secretary General of Sports, Ioulios Synadinos, the 1st Vice President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee, Stelios Aggeloudis and Piraeus Mayor, Giannis Moralis, while Mr. Koulouvaris – Assistant Professor of the A’Orthopedic Clinic, University of Athens, & Sports Excellence Director, congratulated for all great achievements the Greek handball community and stated among other things: “The sport excelence department is a great donation by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation to Greek sports and is in operation since October 1st, 2017. We have a state-of-the-art laboratory and a state-of-the-art mobile sports unit. We have become a reference center for all Australian National Teams and have signed a Memorandum of Collaboration with the Australian Ministry of Sports, we are also a member of the International Association of Sport Performance Centers, and we have a partnership with the US Rutgers University where students do their practice with us & now we have all the National Teams of 12-18 years of handball. I hope that the successes will continue and will be increased”

Thereafter, HHF President Costas Gandis, General Secretary Costas Stamatides and Assistant Professor of the A’Orthopedic Clinic, University of Athens, Panagiotis Koulouvaris signed the scientific cooperation agreement.
